Peppermint Serving Tray -- Gift From Your Kitchen


The minute I saw this on Pinterest I knew I had to make it. Such a neat idea and great for displaying your own holiday treats or those you plan to give away.
This is what the tray looked like when it came out of the oven.
A couple of warnings: 1) Use parchment paper. The original post said either parchment or wax paper would work. Wax paper sticks to the melted candies and when I tried to pull it off, the tray broke. I did fit the pieces back together onto parchment and reheated the tray (for only a couple of minutes) successfully. 2) Begin checking the tray in about 6 or 7 minutes (oven temperatures can vary) and watch very closely -- in just a minute, the candies can go from almost melted to being a soupy mess.

Peppermint Serving Tray
1 pkg. peppermint candies
   
1. Heat oven to 350°

2. Place parchment paper on cookie sheet

3. Arrange mints in any design you wish on top of parchment paper on a cookie sheet.

4. Bake for approximately 8 to 10 minutes (check at 8 minutes) and then watch carefully. 

5. Remove from oven and allow to cool on cookie sheet {cools in approximately 5 minutes}

6. Remove parchment paper from bottom {be careful, tray is fragile and breaks easily.)
I placed the red mint tray on top of a pedestal stand.
