Above photos are from our "hands-on" Bread Making 101 classat Salina's Masonic kitchen -- class was provided through the Salina Public Library. First 5 pics show students at work and final photo shows just one of the braided sandwich breads made in class We also made Wheat Berry Bread which we sampled along with speciality oils and vinegars from The Tasteful Olive in Overland Part. Each participant also took home a loaf of bread that he/she had prepared. Fun group!

. . . the child care providers go through the process of making simple and nutritious foods that children could make in their day care centers.
Finishing up mini English muffin pizzas at the pizza station. 
Deli meats, low-fat cheese slices, whole wheat bread, lettuce & low-fat mayo are all rolled up in healthy & fun-to-make sandwich roll-ups. 
Chopped apples + a sprinkling of cinnamon-sugar top a canned biscuit for a slightly sweet treat -- suitable for a snack or for dessert. 
100% juice & low-fat yogurt are shaken together for a fruit juice shake up.
Reduced-fat spreadable cream cheese is spread on a reduced fat cracker (use one that's sturdy) and is topped with strawberry slices.

Once class started I was involved with the moment and forgot to take anymore! However, I have to say we had a great time and enjoyed meeting new people who share an interest in cooking!

We spent an evening with a fun group of men from St. John, a small town close to our hometown of Stafford. They joined us for an all men's cooking class at Apron Strings in Hutchinson. And, yes, they ate it all!
